Jim Messina (natural December 5, 1947) was a member of Buffalo Springfield, then an original member of the country rock band Poco, before he joined sustaining Kenny Loggins to form Loggins and Messina.

When by having Buffalo Springfield, he served as a recording engineer, producer, and one of these days as a guitar player on the last album.

Messina & Richie Furay, another Buffalo Springfield member, formed Poco after Buffalo Springfield broke up. Messina played lead guitar & supplied vocals & occasionally songwriting to the band. When ii albums, Messina left Poco.

When Poco, Messina was by owning Columbia Records, serving as an independent producer when he met Kenny Loggins. Messina & Loggins worked together in what was to become Loggins' foremost album. In the course of producing Loggins' function, Messina provided backup vocals & guitar operate. One of these days, them decided to put out a album when "Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin' In".

Loggins & Messinthe went in to produce a total of popular albums. A class actiin split & each went on to solo careers. Messinthe manufactured a few albums that did non produce tremendously of a splash, however Loggins' solo career took off.
